Diversity & Inclusion: Lessons from the Field

ACHE of Central Florida Student Associates Lunch N’ Learn Series

Dr. Astrid Gonzalez-Parrilla has dedicated her career to the advancement of post-acute care services and neuro-rehabilitation. She was inspired to become an occupational therapist after her mother survived a major stroke. During the early years as an occupational therapist, Astrid realized that in order to make a difference in the care delivery system it was important to be at the table when important decisions were made; it was then when she initiated her journey as a healthcare leader.

She currently serves as the vice president of operations of Halifax Health|Brooks Rehabilitation Service Line. During this hour, Dr. Gonzalez-Parrilla will focus on the subject of diversity and inclusion from her own unique perspective. Expect topics directly associated with issues faced by women and minorities to additional viewpoints on motivation, leadership, and the business of healthcare.
